Walking Club

Our neighbours across the street, Gill and David, kindly invited us to join their walking club on Monday morning. After Sunday's lunch sent us into a food stupour, we thought that it would be a good idea to get our butts in gear and get some exercise.

With map in hand, David led us down the road and into the woods. France is literally covered in walking trails, each marked with colourful striped symbols on trees and/or telephone poles.

There were about 10 of us in the group. Plus 2 dogs. It was nice to walk alongside each person and find out a little bit about them and speak English while doing it.

Our hike took us through shady woods, down country roads, and alongside fields of corn and cows. We hoofed it for 2 hours. The French countryside, especially the Lot Valley, is uncommonly beautiful.

Gill and David had everyone back to their place for a much needed drink after spending two glorious hours tromping around Martignac. Thanks, folks, for including us!

  2. I won't mention to Palmer that you have found others to take his place.
