Bob's Your Uncle

 Grandfather and grandson

My father-in-law turned 80 a couple of weeks ago.  He is known as Uncle Bob to his legions of fans.

Joe and I hosted a celebratory luncheon to honour this lovely man.

There was wine.  There was food.

There was laughter.  There was a surprise guest.

Joe's 100 year old grandmother was the surprise party guest.

There were speeches.  There were tears.

There was sunshine.  There was cake.

There were gifts.  There were candles to blow out.

But best of all there was family.

Happy birthday, Uncle Bob!  You have taught your family the true meaning of unconditional love, commitment, sacrifice and how to have fun at any age.

WE LOVE YOU!

Twenty-Nine Years And Counting

Joe and I got married twenty-nine years ago today.  April 5, 1986.  In some ways it seems like another lifetime ago.  And in other ways it feels as if it happened just yesterday.

Our wedding day was the first time my mom and dad had seen each other since they got divorced six years earlier.  Yikes!  Talk about nerve-wracking.

Leaving the reception for our wedding night!

THEN:
Day one of our marriage.

NOW:
 Twenty-nine years later.

Happy Anniversary Joe!  We drive each other around the bend but there's no one else I'd rather be in that car with than you.  And I am always excited to see what is going to be around the next corner!  Here's to another 29 years of love, laughter and absolute craziness.
