Steam Train to Minehead

Yesterday we took a steam train from Bishops Lydeard up to the seaside town of Minehead.  The train was packed with rail enthusiasts, families, school groups and tourists.

The train chugged along slowly.  We stopped at nine stations along the way.  All adorable in their own right.

My God, the English countryside is beautiful.  A patchwork quilt of cornfields, wheatfields, cows and sheep.

When we arrived in Minehead we walked directly to the beach.  Got set up on the sand and went in search of some greasy fish and chips for lunch.  Joe joined a family playing cricket on the sand.  Chrissy collected shells for her daughter.

Our day ended with the best cream tea I have had the pleasure to experience.

Rode the rails back home.  Another great day in the UK.
