Martignac

Our 16th century house

The living room

The kitchen/eating area

Our bedroom

The view of the 16th century church across the narrow road. The photo was taken from our front porch.

This week we are staying in Martignac, a tiny group of houses at the end of a long road. The nearest neighbouring village is 4 kilometres away. We have rented this house from a former (now retired) colleague of Joe's. All I can say is that being here is a slice of heaven.

We all squealed with delight when we entered the house. It was built in the 1500s, is decorated beautifully, and the view of the Lot Valley off the back deck is nothing short of breath-taking.

Joe is already talking about renting it for a month next summer.

I never want to leave here.
