I Heart Paris #3

Another few reasons I love Paris...

  • There are over 20 different kinds and styles of butter in the grocery stores.
  • Young people under the age of 25 get into museums free.
  • Even the ticket stubs have works of art on them.
  • Entire shops here are devoted to mustard. At 'Maille' people bring in their own containers to fill from the vats of mustard on tap. Joe bought a little jar of dried apricot and curry mustard to take home with us.

  1. More than salted or unsalted... I would never have thought there was so many varieties of butter.

  3. First of all I want to thank you for your email. I was thrilled you took the time to contact me. Keath and I went to see the movie: JulieandJulia last Sunday. Of course we were thinking about you and Joe enjoying all that wonderful french cuisine. The movie was clever in the way they showed the young writer and then Julia Child. When I saw all that butter it made me laugh, because Julia loved to cook with butter. I have to agree, when we were kids and made our own butter we would put it on both sides of our bread. Have another enjoyable, adventuresome day. I will keep reading and enjoying

  4. Further to the subject of "butter", have you seen any French Butter Dishes? Keath's cousin uses one and it does keep the butter at a nice temperature? I have seen some made of ceramic. The weather has changed here in Vancouver and we had alot of rain yesterday. Hopefully it will be nice next week!!!! from Irene
