I went for a long walk in the woods with some friends today. Our destination was the Whistler Train Wreck. What a beautiful day to be in the forest.
I did not know this wreck even existed until recently.
The train derailed in 1956 after being overloaded with lumber and travelling too fast. The boxcars were later dragged off the rails and into the surrounding forest where they have sat rusting for nearly six decades.
The boxcars have become canvases for graffiti writers. The artwork is ever changing as each artist makes his or her mark on this incredible outdoor gallery.
